The next stage of the travelling exhibition 'The Golden Age of Hungarian Film Posters' is in the heart of Manhattan, organised by Ernst Gallery and the Hungarian Cultural Center in New York. The Lincoln Center is the home of The Metropolitan Opera, The New York City Ballet, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Film Society and several other resident performing arts companies. Now it hosts a Hungarian poster exhibition on the occassion showing Hungarian films in remembrance of the revolution in 1956 (Resistance and Rebirth: Hungarian Cinema 50 Years after '56, 27 October - 16 November 2006). The selection chosen from the collection containing 200 pieces including posters made by Hungarian artists for American silent and sound movies which are one of the most beautiful pieces of Hungarian poster design between 1912 and 1945. The book entitled 'The Golden Age of the Hungarian Film Posters' won the prize 'Best Artbook of Hungary' in 2004.
