Jozsef Rippl-Ronai - Zsolnay Manufacture: Plates from the Andrassy dining room

Ernst Gallery purchased for a record price of 83.000 four long lost ceramic plates made by Jozsef Rippl-Ronai at a Christie's auction in June 2006. The famous painter was commissioned by count Tivadar Andrassy to design a complete art nouveau dining enterieur in his Buda palace (implemented between 1897 - 1901) for which the plates were manufactured by the Zsolnay Manufactury in Pecs. The art historic rarities will be presented in the cooperation of Ernst Gallery and the Museum of Decorative Arts as a part of the exhibition Collectors and Treasures, in the Vitrine of contemporary collectors.
